The profits of the concern are large, as the following figures shew. Fares are 5 cents first class, and thres cents second with an added cent after night-fall; in this rough estimate they have been taken as uniformly three cents. The service is composed of 8 launches regularly on the run: and the averge value of the launches averaged over the 24 that have been recently used is 88,208 per launch.

One set of four launches makes m average of 34 single trips per launch per day: and an estimate based on general observation makes the average number of passengers per launch
